Like anyone who grew up with a backing track of Mid-Century architecture (perhaps a so designed family home, a practicing family member, or a familial tradition of patronage) Macgregor Knox (son of the oft featured here Alistair) would have etched in his DNA the qualities of such an aesthetic and philosophy. And here we see it manifest in his own family home, now on the market. Not one of his father’s wonderfully earthy works but rather the compatriot team of Sibbel Builders whose homes possessed similar bushland expression (as seen here in an earlier, confused listing in Black Rock) plus the bonus of exquisite joinery this Dutch-immigrant family were known for. Now it sits warm and brilliant, waiting to be passed onto someone with a similar affinity for such indigenous beauty, let us hope it finds such an owner.
