A little sticky of the sales history here – a lovely Modern home in the emerald canopy – tells the story of real estate in Australia. From 120k to 1.4 million in 20 years. We could cry. However, it also illustrates the abstract quality of money and/or perceptions of value. Considered design and materials do not change with the passing of years or the flux of a marketplace. They hold the immutable qualities from that which they derive – air, water, mineral, vegetable and as such have an elemental sway which is hard to describe, but quick to perceive. The trees in this case also imparting magnificent beauty to this space of feeling. What one paid for it, at what time, doesn’t change this often magical boldly and emotive impression in the slightest.
