We’ve seen the impressive work of Queensland architect Gabriel Poole before with this Magnum P.I.-esq beauty in Buderim. Today with this c.1978 residence in a rolling bushland setting we find similar trademarks in the high vaulted ceilings and deep, dark timbers though this one suggests a more Australian homestead character, almost shed-like, in its elemental tile, beams, and whitewashed walls. And though the aesthetic foundation is one of simplicity and limited materials the designer’s daring shines bright all over the place including in that epic triangular fireplace and sunken circle, mosaic-tiled shower base – now that’s one for the vision board.
