Though on the far reaches of Mid-Century (c.1980) and perhaps moving into the Post-Modern realm, the breathtaking Pacifica of this home and its gorgous gardens is a soft Polynesian breeze on a chilly winter morning. Reminiscent of Gawalla St from a few months ago, this home also addresses our humid northern climate with islander construction traditions of soaring ceilings and deeply cool and calming timber interiors in one stylish star turn. That entry court alone has us a little swoony and plotting to purchase a Mini Moke to complete the picture. A collaboration between architects Gabriel Poole and John Mainwaring (though judging from the agent’s use of inverted commas perhaps it was a couple of sneaky impostors!), this is a stunningly well maintained residence which any self-respecting Magnum P.I wannabe or waxhead would fall over themselves for (Kooks need not apply).
