Today a little observation of two listings in Victoria. Both deserving a place with us, but almost opposite in their presentation. This first one pops up as a sensational slice of retro jive in the bayside streets of Altona. The internal inspection is however a little deflating, not only because of the depressing refurb inside – transitioning from technicolour musical to 50s prison B movie once you step over the threshold, but also because though modern and open for it’s time, it is fairly pedestrian. That said, there is always the joy of that angled roofline, sweeping wall of windows, solid brickwork, stone features and the little timber which has survived untouched, hopefully the new owner will see this one deserves a little more pizzazz.
